Legislation has recently changed in regards to the Federal Hours of Service regulations.
These new regulations now require all vehicles registered over 4,500 kg and travelling
extra-provincially to adhere to the Hours of Service Legislation. This includes the filling out
of daily log books and proceeding through weigh scales. The objective of this Regulation is to improve motor carrier safety by limiting a driver’s hours of work to increase alertness and reduce fatigue.
